Female fashion mother's leading the way

Ahead of Mother's Day and International Women's Day this year, we're thinking about Mompreneaurs; the brilliant business-minded mothers who are leading the way not just with their wardrobe but with their entrepreneurial talents.

Motivated by their unique career paths, these are just a few fabulous female fashion icons who we think are inspiring future generations - spotlighting how you can achieve whatever you aspire out of life, so long as you have the creative ambition and drive to get there...

Rosie Hunginton-Whiteley

As an international supermodel actress and beauty mogul, Rosie Hunginton-Whiteley has received several honours for her iconic career which has grown from strength to strength over the years. Rosie even won the ‘Elle Style Award’ ‘Model of the Year’ in 2009 and the Harper Bazaar Women of the Year Award for ‘Model of the Year’ and ‘Businesswoman off the Year’ in 2014 and 2016 respectively.

The Victoria Secret angel and entrepreneur also welcomed her second child with husband, Jason Statham last year whilst launching RoseInc.com. A clean beauty brand inspired from her days spent in the hair and makeup chair when working with the best of the business - showing she really is the queen of multi-tasking.

This season, we are loving her Blush Divine Radiant Lip & Cheek colour which would work great when styling your summer essentials to achieve that must-have rosy glow. Imagine pairing this with Ridhi Mehra’s fuchsia floral printed georgette kaftan which is available to buy from Amrika.

Coco Rocha

Coco Rocha, the Canadian mother of two is always known for her star-worthy appearances whether it’s on or off the runway. If you’re not already following Coco on Instagram and amongst her 1.7m followers already you may be surprised to know that the mum of three is also the Owner and Investor of four companies which include management services, educational consultancies, apps and on-demand child care all inspired from her own parenting journey.

She also revealed to Elle.com that her maternity wear was inspired by other moms out there on Instagram - saying; "If you hashtag #StyletheBump or, you know, #mommytobe or any of that, there's some women out there that just really are spot on. I remember thinking, one day, when I'm pregnant, I would love to just always be fashionable and styling that bump, and it's been fun.” Revealing that we really do all have the same access to unlimited style possibilities.

We’re currently obsessed with this flashback video from her appearance on Project Runway and this vibrant gown which shows that bold, statement colours especially when worn with confidence are looks which never got out of style…

Rihanna

A newly announced and much anticipated mum to watch is without a doubt, Rihanna who is expecting her first child with Rapper; ASAP Rocky. Whilst reluctant to tell her friends and the world at first they did decide to share a series of photos on Instagram spotlighting her bump which quickly took the internet by storm and with that she’s quickly surging the demand for maternity wear. The Fenty founder even told Interview magazine that she wanted to be a mother 'more than anything in life'.

Rihanna was inspired to create Fenty Beauty & Fenty Skin after years of experimenting with the best-of-the-best in beauty and seeked out to offer products that performed for all skin types and tones, a mentality we support here at Amrika as an inclusive curated luxury fashion brand.

With the world eagerly watching her every move, she’s certainly giving us a master class in experimental maternity style so watch this space as we follow her iconic pregnancy journey. Whether it’s mixing modern pieces with vintage Chanel or anything in between we can’t wait to find out what she’s wearing next.
